Thank you to our WHS Student Council and FCA for organizing a truly special event to commemorate the tragic day, 25 years ago, Sept. 11, 2001.
Our students, with the help of our staff, organized a walk to commemorate the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001. Students donated money and then walked in the gym to symbolize all the steps our first responders took as they moved in and out of the collapsing towers that terrible morning! After each lap, a student got a different name/picture of one of the victims who passed away on that tragic morning, 25 years ago.
Thank you to everyone who planned, participated, and donated! We were able to raise over $1,200 to donate to the Selma Fire Department!

At Wapahani High School, we believe a student’s ZIP code should never limit their opportunities.
Through the programs offered at Wapahani and our partnerships with the Muncie Area Career Center and RAZ-32, our students have access to nearly 30 graduation pathways. These opportunities span healthcare, skilled trades, agriculture, technology, education, business, public safety, and more.
This is what collaboration looks like in rural education.
No rural school can provide every pathway alone. But when schools share resources, expertise, facilities, and a commitment to students, we can create opportunities far beyond what any one district could offer independently.
We are incredibly grateful for our partners and proud of what we are building together. Our students deserve choices, meaningful experiences, and a clear path toward enrollment, employment, or enlistment.
Local schools. Shared opportunities. Bright futures.

Why Attendance Matters - Showing up matters more than ever.
Under Indiana’s new accountability model, regular attendance is a Student Success Indicator at every assessed grade level.
To earn credit, a student must be present for at least 94% of enrolled instructional days. In a traditional 180 day school year, missing more than approximately 10 days could prevent a student from meeting the attendance target.
Every absence represents missed instruction, missed relationships, and missed opportunities. We understand that illness and emergencies happen, but consistent attendance remains one of the strongest ways families can support student success.

Appreciation also goes to Salsa's and Taco Bell for supplying food for volunteers.

Liberty Perry Schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, August 14, due to the continued impact of the catastrophic rainfall and flooding experienced throughout our communities.
There will be no e-learning tomorrow. We want to give our families and staff the time they need to take care of themselves, their homes, and one another.
This has certainly been an incredibly strange and challenging start to the 2026–2027 school year. While this is not how any of us envisioned beginning the year, we are looking forward to turning the page and starting on a new foot Monday morning. We cannot wait to get our students back in our buildings and get this school year truly underway!
Until then, please continue to keep our neighbors and all those impacted by the flooding in your thoughts and prayers.
Stay safe, Liberty Perry. We look forward to seeing everyone Monday!

The deadline is approaching quickly for Fall Ball! Make sure to register your kids today!
Yesterday, we officially celebrated the opening of our Access 4 All Inclusive Playground with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and we are overwhelmed by the incredible turnout and support!
Seeing our students, families, staff, donors, community partners, School Board members, and friends gathered together to celebrate this milestone was truly unforgettable. One of our favorite moments was looking out and seeing everyone filling the playground equipment behind the ribbon; a perfect reminder that this project was built by a community that shows up for kids.
This playground represents so much more than new equipment. It represents inclusion, belonging, and the belief that every child deserves a place to play, explore, and make memories alongside their peers.
This dream became a reality because of the generosity of our community. Thank you to our donors, grant partners, volunteers, contractors, and everyone who shared our story, encouraged our efforts, and supported this project from the very beginning. Every contribution, large and small, helped make this possible.
Now, the best part begins. We can't wait to watch children of all abilities laugh, play, and build friendships on this playground for years to come.
Together, we proved that when a community comes together, amazing things happen. ❤️
