The start of a brand new school year is just around the corner at Selma Middle School. It is set to be a year of exciting changes and incredible learning. Below are some dates and times of upcoming back to school events.
LPS Back to School Bash:
Friday August 7th from 5:00 - 8:00 at the Selma Ball Diamonds. Meet school staff and admin teams, free student activities, prizes, and giveaways.
6th Grade Orientation:
Tuesday, August 11th from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Parents are welcome to drop off their SMS 6th grader at the building for a short orientation. Students will have the chance to get into their lockers, meet with current NJHS students to lead them on a building tour, and to offer some middle school success tips. This is for 6th graders only and a student only event.
Back to School Night:
August 11th from 5:30 - 7:30. Doors will open at 5:15. All SMS grade level families are encouraged to attend this event with students. Everyone will meet first in the gymnasium. You will have a chance to walk your student’s schedule, meet each of their teachers, bring in and drop off supplies to classrooms and lockers, and gain information about class expectations, grading, communication, etc. Student schedules will have been made available at that point and you can bring a printed copy or access via Power School app.
8th Grade DC Trip Meeting:
Thursday, August 13th beginning at 6:30 in the WHS Auditorium. This meeting will be for families of any 8th grade student interested in going on the Washington, D.C. trip. Students are encouraged to attend this meeting as well.

The Selma Bluebird Day Queen contest is a wonderful opportunity and experience! You can learn interview skills, communication skills, network, earn scholarships and more! Sign up today to represent our community in a wonderful way!
