The Wapahani High School Fine Arts academic team of Jordan Oren, Tristen Enyeart, Audrey Hunt, and Shelby Good will be traveling to Purdue University on Saturday May 6th for the Indiana State Super Bowl Senior Division competition. The four seniors, led by coach Kyle Rees, competed with 274 other Indiana schools to earn one of only seven team spots qualifying for the class 3 final round of state competition. This is an accomplishment of particular distinction in that the Fine Arts competition covers all of the visual arts as well as musical knowledge. This year’s competition subject is The French Revolution, requiring team members to have a vast knowledge of many aspects of the fine arts from that period of time.  All four seniors are also current members of Mr. Rees’ Art History class. While some of the students have competed at the state finals in past years on other subject round teams, this is the first time since Mr. Rees has been teaching at Wapahani for the Fine Arts team to make it to the state finals.
