IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
SELMA ELEMENTARY 2018-2019
In the interest of student safety, the following changes will take effect for this school year at Selma Elementary. Thank you for your cooperation as we seek to make sure that our students, staff, and parents are safe.
CHANGES TO ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
Students will be supervised in the cafeteria in the mornings starting at 7:45 a.m.. Breakfast is served starting at 7:50 a.m. and students who are dropped off that need to eat breakfast should arrive as close to that time as possible.
Parents of younger children will be permitted to walk their students to class if needed until Monday, August 13. Starting Tuesday, August 14, students will need to go to their classes unaccompanied by parents.
Buses will be dropping students off in the morning on East Street. No parking will be permitted before school north of the Reserved spaces where the buses will need to park.
CHANGES TO DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Parents will not be permitted to enter the building to pick up students or to wait for them at the end of the day. Parents should only come in if they need to sign their child out early for an appointment. Staff will bring students outside at dismissal. Parents are encouraged to stay in their cars if they are along the curb in the pick-up line to keep things moving smoothly.
