I would like to welcome students and parents to the 2016-2017 school year at Selma Middle School. The middle school experience is a quite diverse one. Sixth graders come into a new school routine and worry mostly about lockers and having enough time between classes to make it to their next one on time. Eighth graders leave the middle school as young men and women looking forward to making an impact at the high school. A lot of change happens in these short few years.
I encourage you to be involved in your child’s education by seeing that they are ready to learn when they come into school each day. We all play a role in a child’s education, but the role of parents will always be, far and away, the most important role of all. Our Selma learning community depends on each one playing their unique role in educating our children.
Have a great school year!
Dennis Thompson, Principal, Selma Middle School
